Wie in dem vagen, aber entzückenden ersten Trailer zu sehen ist, wird Mortal Kombat X 2015 erscheinen. Im Text zum Video auf YouTube heißt es, dass das Spiel von "next-gen technology" angetrieben wird, was auf Versionen für Xbox One und PlayStation 4 hindeutet.

Der Erfolg des Mortal Kombat Reboot aus dem Jahre 2011 und des gelungenen Injustice: Gods Among Us aus dem vergangenen Jahr sollte Grund genug sein, uns auf ein weiteres Spiel von NetherRealm Studios zu freuen.
Der offiziellen Pressemitteilung zufolge wird das Spiel für Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4 und PC entwickelt. In der Pressemitteilung findet sich auf die folgende Beschreibung:
