Äußerungen von Crystal Dynamics' Global Brand Director Karl Stewert zufolge wird de kommende Reboot nicht auf ein einziges Spiel beschränkt sein. Es soll zumindest ein weiteres Spiel geben.
„I have to be careful because I know exactly where she's going“, sagte Stewart zu Videogamer.com. „You have to look at the future, you have to look at where... It's not just one game."
„At the end of this game we want her to be that strong female character that is willing to go and seek out mysteries and seek out tombs. She's going to be going to plenty of tombs in this game, but we're going to have somebody who wants to go on that adventure, who wants to be the person that she now is. That's the goal."
Diese Ankündigung kommt nicht ganz überraschend, wenn man bedenkt, wie viel Zeit, Geld und Mühe Square Enix in den neuen Tomb Raider Titel investiert hat. Das macht jetzt noch mehr Sinn, da wir wissen, dass Square Enix eine neue Serie im Sinn hat. Kann Tomb Raider so in den Pantheon der erfolgreichsten Videospieltitel zurückkehren? Square Enix scheint viel Geld darauf zu setzen.
