Microsoft und 343 Industries gaben eine Art Season Pass für Halo 4 bekannt und bestätigten dabei offiziell, dass es nach der Veröffentlichung des Spiels herunterladbare Inhalte geben wird. Um Stimmung für den neuen Pass zu machen, wurde sogar ein Launch Trailer veröffentlicht.
Der Season Pass trägt den Namen War Games Map Pass und verbilligt die DLC-Inhalte um mehr als 15%. Der Pass wird $24,99 USD oder 2000 Microsoft Points kosten und Zugang zu drei Map Packs gewähren. Wenn Sie den War Games Map Pass erwerben, erhalten Sie darüber hinaus im Spiel zwei Bonus-Helme und ein Emblem. Die Map Packs werden im Dezember, Februar und April herauskommen. Microsoft geizt diesmal nicht mit Details, denn neben den Titeln der Map Packs wurden auch kurze Beschreibungen veröffentlicht. Es wird deutlich, dass man bei 343 Industries viel zeit investiert hat, um sicherzustellen, dass alles fertig wird und gut funktioniert. Hier sind die offiziellen Beschreibungen der Map Packs:
Crimson Map Pack (erscheint im Dezember)
Maps: Wreckage, Harvest, Shatter
Description: Witness the chaos of a clash of civilizations in Wreckage, with its blend of claustrophobic spaces and dangerous exposures and venture into the human colony environs of Harvest, and explore a human foray on an alien moon in Shatter.
Majestic Map Pack (erscheint im Februar)
Maps: Landfall, Monolith, Skyline
Description: Landfall’s emphasis is on infantry battles against a glittering ocean on a distant world, while Monolith exposes you to the naked vacuum of space – and the firepower of opposing teams, and Skyline’s distinctly industrial feel provides new challenges in somewhat familiar, but occasionally confined spaces.
Castle Map Pack (erscheint im April)
Maps: Daybreak, Outcast, Perdition
Description: Daybreak is set in a military facility against the backdrop of an idyllic mountain range, while Outcast plunges you into the warrens, canyons and arches of an alien edifice, and Perdition takes players into the heart of an urban sprawl, with tactical speed and situational awareness its key features.
