CDPR veröffentlichte vor kurzem diesen Screenshot und einige kurze Informationen zu seiner neuen Rollenspiel-Bautechnologie namens REDEngine 3. Es ist seit gestern bekannt, dass diese Engine Cyberpunk 2077 antreiben wird, aber entscheiden Sie selbst, ob sich dies nach The Witcher 3 anhört: „Combining a non-linear story and open-world RPG for the first time, CD Projekt RED’s REDengine 3 brings a new level of realism to the gaming experience.” Und CD Projekt RED Boss Adam Badowski meint: „If we look at RPGs nowadays we find two approaches, one which emphasizes the story but limits the game world, and one that builds a vast, open world but hampers and simplifies the story. With the REDengine 3 we combine the positive aspects of both approaches for the first time, creating an open environment with a complex, multi-thread story. Together with believable characters, a captivating tale and a world where players can roam freely without loading times, we will be able to move gaming to a new level with a realistic feel and full player immersion.” Hört sich verdammt nach dem an, was wir uns von The Witcher 3 erwarten dürfen, oder? Hoffen wird man auf jeden Fall dürfen.
Das oben mag kein Screenshot des noch nicht angekündigten, aber sicher bald entwickelt werdenden The Witcher 3 sein, aber was da zu sehen ist, wird sich punkto Qualität und Atmosphäre nicht allzu sehr von dem unterscheiden, was wir uns vom dritten Teil der Action-Rollenspielreihe erwarten dürfen…
