Jeder, der sich für die Dragon Age Serie interessiert, wird bemerkt haben, dass EA und BioWare die Zahl „3“ aus dem Titel von Dragon Age: Inquisition gestrichen haben.
Mit gutem Grund: Die Entwickler möchten so verdeutlichen, dass das neue Spiel keine lineare Fortsetzung von Dragon Age II ist, das ja auch keine direkte Fortsetzung des ersten Spiels war.
In einem Gespräch mit IGN sagte EA Labels Boss Frank Gibeau, dass diese Änderung die Art und Weise widerspiegelt, wie man mit der Dragon Age Reihe zu verfahren gedenkt.
“We felt like we wanted to bring more attention to the word Inquisition, because that’s more the story arc of what it’s like. There’s a whole bunch of gameplay and features and big story choices related to how you go through this Inquisition that happens in the world“, erläuterte Gibeau.
“It’s a tactical marketing decision. There wasn’t anything that strategic about it, to be blunt“, fügte er hinzu.
“We just wanted to draw more attention to the fact that Inquisition is an all-new chapter inside of the Dragon Age universe, as opposed to people expecting a follow-on to Dragon Age 1 and 2 in a literal, linear sense.”
Fans müssen sich noch bis 2014 gedulden, denn erst dann erscheint Dragon Age: Inquisition für PC, Xbox 360, PS3, PS4 und Xbox One. Herz des Spiels ist DICEs Frostbite 3 Engine.
