In der vergangenen Woche konnten wir einen ersten Blick auf Scarlett Johansson als Major Kusanagi in Hollywoods kommendem Ghost in the Shell Film werfen. Die Entscheidung die Rolle der Motoko Kusanagi, einer „augmented-cybernetic“ japanischen Frau, mit Johansson zu besetzen, hat zu heftiger Kritik geführt, da es sich um einen weiteren Fall von „Whitewashing“ (Charaktere mit anderer Ethnie werden von Weißen gespielt) handelt, was in großen Hollywoodproduktionen (Pan, Aloha, etc.) in letzter Zeit bedenklich häufig passiert.
